Maks is one of a small number of Dalmatians worldwide that carries two copies of the desirable SLC2A9 gene therefore every puppy he produces will have one copy of the gene and therefore Low Uric Acid (LUA)! Emily has one copy of the LUA gene so we expect some of these puppies to have two copies! This beautiful litter is the result of breeding an outcrossed female back to her sire. I believe that homozygous puppies from this litter will be very useful in incorporating the LUA gene in other bloodlines. They are very healthy and consistent.

Day Twelve

Here is a short video which is very poor quality but you can get a glimpse of them learning to use their legs. Bizzi was eating her supper and I think they could smell it because this is what they look like when they want to eat.

I noticed today that their eyes are starting to open. Once they can see and hear they really change rapidly. Below is a face shot of Wade followed by two of Nancy.

    Ryder and Bella want to play with the puppies. Really it's me that want to just using then as an excuse !!
