Maks is one of a small number of Dalmatians worldwide that carries two copies of the desirable SLC2A9 gene therefore every puppy he produces will have one copy of the gene and therefore Low Uric Acid (LUA)! Emily has one copy of the LUA gene so we expect some of these puppies to have two copies! This beautiful litter is the result of breeding an outcrossed female back to her sire. I believe that homozygous puppies from this litter will be very useful in incorporating the LUA gene in other bloodlines. They are very healthy and consistent.

The puppies are growing up!

I haven't posted for a month so I thought it might be about time. Although I haven't heard any feedback from Indian and Kennedy's people (which saddens me) I have heard from everyone else!
No new pictures of Sophie (Gobblegirl) but her new family love her and say she is quite a handful. I believe the exact words were "She has been here 6 weeks and we are still alive". Then went on to say she is sweet and getting more beautiful every day!

The first one pictured is Macy. I am told that she is beautiful and has hearts over both eyes. Her favorite things to shred are toilet paper and homework. She and Pitty Loki are best friends!

Next is Belle (Cranberry) Belle will be a show dog we are hoping and also a fire mascot. Belle's mom Erin is very much an animal lover. She shows horses and rabbits.

"Don't look so sad Bunker we make this truck look cool"

Next one is George (Pilgrim). I only have one picture of him sleeping on a trip back from Little Rock, Arkansas where he was visiting his new human extended family.

Next is Brandy (Pumpkin) the homozygous LUA girl. Brandy's mom Judy was told by her training instructor that she has a fantastic pup. He said she is smart, driven and persistent.

The last one pictured is Gracie (Mayflower). Gracie proved to be a little more than her owners bargained for and she has been returned to me. She came back with a whole bag of tricks which I have had a lot of fun with. She knows come, sit and down. She knows finish left and sit in heel position with the command go round. She know sit stay and down stay. She knows go to your mat. She has mastered the "watch" command with great intensity. She knows "leave it" and will wait until you give the command OK. She will do some other stuff like getting in and on a box. She will spin and twist.  She is very pretty and if I don't find the right show/performance home for her she will start her conformation showing this spring. She is available at this time. She is (as all of these puppies are) LUA. She has a very high work ethic and need a job to do. She is very smart and would make an awesome performance dog. Unfortunately I don't like showing in performance events so her talents will be wasted with me. She is not happy to be a cuddly pet. Actually she hates cuddling and will tell you so in no uncertain terms which is why she came back to me. She is quiet in a crate and submissive to alpha dogs.  Oh did I say she is drop dead gorgeous?
