Maks is one of a small number of Dalmatians worldwide that carries two copies of the desirable SLC2A9 gene therefore every puppy he produces will have one copy of the gene and therefore Low Uric Acid (LUA)! Emily has one copy of the LUA gene so we expect some of these puppies to have two copies! This beautiful litter is the result of breeding an outcrossed female back to her sire. I believe that homozygous puppies from this litter will be very useful in incorporating the LUA gene in other bloodlines. They are very healthy and consistent.

Day Seventeen

I have posted a lot of face shots so today I took some body shots so you can see the spotting patterns. I don't believe any of them will be too lightly marked or over marked. They all look pleasingly spotted although  some of the puppies have a thicker coat than others. The ones with the shorter coats look more boldly spotted than the ones with the more plush coat. I believe that the spots are just taking longer to come through on those puppies. I'm sure many of you are trying to pick which puppy will be yours so if anyone wants me to highlight a particular puppy please drop me an email. From the feedback I have been getting Dalton and Gavin seem to be the favorites. They are all very robust but they appear much bigger in the pictures than they actually are. Or at least that is what I have been told. So here they are!

  1. It looks like Emily is going to have that same white area on her show side as Mama Bizzi. I love that girl, both the big one and the little one.
