Maks is one of a small number of Dalmatians worldwide that carries two copies of the desirable SLC2A9 gene therefore every puppy he produces will have one copy of the gene and therefore Low Uric Acid (LUA)! Emily has one copy of the LUA gene so we expect some of these puppies to have two copies! This beautiful litter is the result of breeding an outcrossed female back to her sire. I believe that homozygous puppies from this litter will be very useful in incorporating the LUA gene in other bloodlines. They are very healthy and consistent.

I'm missing the puppies...but pictures help!

I have had a comment that I need to update the blog because the empty crate is sad. I have mixed feelings about that I miss the puppies particularly Indian but I don't miss all the work. I have been catching up on my sleep which feels really good and I have been able to finds time to go exercise at Curves 3 times a week. I'm not sure if that feels good or not but I suppose it is good for me.

I do have some new pictures from owners! Thank you everyone who has sent me some new pics. The first two are of Sophie who was Gobblegirl. She is as pretty as I expected her to be!

The next four pictures are of Gracie who was Mayflower. Gracie is giving her new owners a run for their money. She is very smart and also very opinionated.  Her owners are channeling her behavior toward something very positive. For those who don't know much about agility a dog needs to be aware of where their hind feet are and how to maneuver them efficiently. Gracie is learning these exercises. One of the exercises is to teach a puppy to put all four feet in a box. After that is accomplished the box is switched for a smaller one and so on until the dog has all four feet in a very small box.  Gracie has no idea why she should be in a box but she is enjoying learning these things. She is being taught these things with the help of a clicker.

The picture below is George who use to be Pilgrim. He is sleeping with his new friend Gracie.

The two pictures below are of Indian with his new friends.
