Maks is one of a small number of Dalmatians worldwide that carries two copies of the desirable SLC2A9 gene therefore every puppy he produces will have one copy of the gene and therefore Low Uric Acid (LUA)! Emily has one copy of the LUA gene so we expect some of these puppies to have two copies! This beautiful litter is the result of breeding an outcrossed female back to her sire. I believe that homozygous puppies from this litter will be very useful in incorporating the LUA gene in other bloodlines. They are very healthy and consistent.

And then there were five.....

Left to right Pumpkin, Cranberry, Pilgrim,
Indian and Kennedy

The first puppy to leave was Mayflower who is now known as Gracie. Her registered name is Rim Rock's Let Us Give Thanks! Very appropriate since they were born on Thanksgiving.  Carol and Jack recently lost one of there Golden and Gracie is going to try to wiggle her way into their hearts. I have a feeling she had them at hello!

Next to leave was Macy. Macy will be sharing her live with Barb, Keith and Gavin along with a handsome Pitt Bull boy, Loki and a kitty. Best wishes go out to this sweet little pup. I am sure she will be following Gavin around in no time! I think Emily would have gone home with Gavin as they seemed to hit it off right away.

The third puppy to leave today was Gobblegirl. Her new name will be Sophie! When James called me to find out if I had any puppies he told me that they recently lost their Dalmatian and his wife Victoris was taking the lose very hard and she needed a new Dal to love.  The first time they came to visit Gobblegirl went right over and introduced herself. She seemed to know they were her people. I'm sure she will be very loved and perhaps a bit spoiled.

A friend gave me a couple of dog beds that her Bassett puppy out grew. I thought the puppy would love them but it seems Grandma Bizzi likes to squeeze into them also.
