Maks is one of a small number of Dalmatians worldwide that carries two copies of the desirable SLC2A9 gene therefore every puppy he produces will have one copy of the gene and therefore Low Uric Acid (LUA)! Emily has one copy of the LUA gene so we expect some of these puppies to have two copies! This beautiful litter is the result of breeding an outcrossed female back to her sire. I believe that homozygous puppies from this litter will be very useful in incorporating the LUA gene in other bloodlines. They are very healthy and consistent.

Day Thirty Nine

As 2012 winds down how I wish the puppies would too! When I came home from work they serenaded me in 8 part harmony. After I let them all run around the house they finally tired themselves out. Now a few hours later they are ready for another romp. All I w ant to do is go to bed. I am sure 2013 can make it's way in without my participation. Happy New Year to all of you!

Cranberry looks so much like her Mom in the face! Emily has a beautiful face and I never get tired of looking at it.
 Sweet Indian
 Sleeping Mayflower
When they got tired from playing and running about they found a place to sleep. I thought it was funny that the 5 girls got in one crate (below)
The three boys chose another crate to nap in.

  1. Perhaps that's why I was initially drawn to Cranberry, because she looks so much like Emily! Of course, when we visited, I discovered that I was drawn to whichever sweetie I was holding at the time!! These puppies are all so adorable and have such sweet temperaments. If I were looking for a puppy, I would be happy with any one of these darlings!

Happy New Year to you and the spotted crew!
