Day Two

Well today the puppies received their litter names. I usually go with a theme. I told my friend LaDonna that if they were born on her birthday that I would name the puppies after her family. So the theme is the Kings! Ladonna has two sons, two daughters in law, one granddaughter and two grand sons plus her and her husband. That is the exact amount of puppies we have. I have put different color collars on them so they are distinguishable. Here are their names and corresponding collar colors. Red collar is Nancy, Blue Collar is Holly, Green Collar is Dalton, Yellow Collar is Emily, White & black striped collar is Kenny, White Collar is LaDonna, Orange Collar is Gavin, Orange and Black striped collar is Wade and last but not least  the Yellow and Black collar is Justin. Day One

The puppies are one day old and doing great. Bizzi is very protective of her puppies and will not allow the other dogs to even sneak a peek. Every one is respecting her wishes except Gambit. She insists on peeking everytime she gets a chance.

I tried to put neck bands on them but the band aren't working out very well for me this time. The bands are probably 4 years old and the adhesive is not very sticky now. I will have to figure something else out. Here are a couple of pictures of them at one day old.

And then there were nine!

I think (hope) Bizzi is finished with the delivery. We have 5 boys and 4 girls.

9/11 A day of sadness and also a day for birth!

So far we have four puppies three girls and a double ear patch boy! 

Lila thinks she is having puppies too!

Oh my.....Lila was in season a week before Bizzi and she thinks she is going to be a mom too. If Bizzi has as many as she looks like she will have perhaps she will share some of the burden with Lila!

One week to go!

Today we brought in the puppy pen and got it assembled. It is  4' by 8' and takes up a good portion of the room. Here is a before and a couple of after pictures.

Bizzi and Maks are inspecting the nursery while Grandpa Garrett looks on. He has been through this before and I believe he is hoping these puppies don't have nearly as sharp of teeth as the last ones.  Below Bizzi is looking very pregnant.

Meanwhile Maks went to a show yesterday and won his second win towards his Grand Championship. In UKC to become a Grand Champion a dog has to have 5 wins under three different judges with competition. Competition is defined as 3 Champions entered correctly and shown in the champion class. Both of Maks wins were in Champion classes with AKC and UKC Champions and/or Grand Champions.

Two weeks to go!

Bizzi is pictured below in before and after pregnancy pictures. She has a very concerned look on her face. I am hoping she is as good of a Mom as her mother was. 

Here are a couple new pictures of Maks who is the sire of this litter. Maks is a very special Dalmatian and has done everything I have ever asked of him. He gets along well with people, dogs and today he had his first experience with horses. He is a dream come true.
